I am the General Counsel at the US division of one of the largest container carriers in the world. My time is split between being the head of the US legal department and a business role as a member of my company's executive management team.
At age 34 I was hired to this position, which is admittedly young for such a job. I couple of years into it, I am often asked how I got this position and how I manage the daily work and the daily challenges I face.
Originally I created this blog when I was a private practice maritime attorney to share information that I thought would impact the practice of maritime law or the clients of maritime lawyers. Those posts are still available, however I am now concentrating my posts in other areas.
Namely, I am committed to the discussion of lawyers developing as business people - something most lawyers have difficulty with.
